Espresso is reputed to be the base of all great coffees. The first espresso machine was developed in France and Italy. It was a rather crude attempt; an espresso machine uses pressure to force hot water through finely ground coffee.

Suggestion: A good serve espresso in half-cup should contain 1 1/2 ounces of rich, dark, coffee with a golden crema (or cream) on top. For those who like an intense coffee experience.

One-third espresso, one-third hot chocolate, and one-third steamed milk add sugar at your taste.

    A frothy mixture of espresso and steamed milk in equal measure.

Espresso with steamed milk and a dollop of frothed milk on top (more milky than a cappuccino).
